Edgar Espinoza Geldres
Geologist graduated from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa – Peru (2003), with a master's degree in economic geology from the Universidad Católica del Norte – Chile (2014), a diploma course in geostatistical evaluation of deposits from the Universidad de Chile (2023) and more than seventeen years of experience in Brownfield and Greenfield exploration in Chile, Peru and Argentina, of which ten years were spent at Teck Resources.
My story
His early work experience in Peru was in Pb-Zn skarn exploration and ore control in subway gold veins of the Buenaventura mine. Later, in Chile with Teck Resources, he worked in greenfield explorations of Cu – Au and Cu – Mo porphyry deposits in the Paleocene, Eocene – Oligocene metallogenic bands, with sediment and soil sampling, recognition of targets with aster anomalies, and mapping at regional and district scales until reaching diamond drilling stages.
Subsequently, he worked in several junior companies, such as the Puquio Project, Mina Uva (Catemu District), Los Pingos, Dos Amigos (Domeyko District), Mina Pullalli, Indiana Project (Cerro Negro), Bornita Project (Cordillera IV Region).
For the last five years, he has worked in strata-type deposits in the Michilla district, developing and exploring projects, leading surface and trench mapping, soil and sediment sampling, AR and DDH drilling, interpretation, and 2D and 3D modeling (leapfrog).
He has a high capacity for project generation and development, from initial phases to advanced projects, which include geophysical and geochemical methods, surface geological mapping, execution – supervision, and mapping of diamond and reverse air drilling. His soft skills are proactivity, commitment to work, achievement, and purposefulness, as well as adaptability to the work environment even in adverse situations, constant learning, teamwork, leadership, working under pressure, commitment to safety, and good community relations.
