Héctor Castro Varela
Geologist graduated from Universidad Católica del Norte with seventeen years of experience, mainly as a project and exploration geologist. I have experience in copper porphyry and strata-bound copper deposits. I have been part of both generative and advanced exploration teams, including the development stages of mining projects.
My story
Enthusiastic about the terrain, with vast experience generating surface maps and interpreting geochemical data. I participated in supporting international exploration teams in Mongolia, evaluating potential exploration projects of junior companies. I have overseen numerous drilling campaigns, both Diamond and Reverse Air, and I have vast experience in drill hole mapping, emphasizing details and neatness of mapping. One of the milestones in my career was being part of the first finds that led to the discovery of Antofagasta Minerals' Cachorro Project.
